Tonight we had a fundraiser in church in the Ready Steady Cook format, hosted by The Pampered Chef agent, Shirley Kerr. Johnny (our Youth Worker) and myself (the Curate) were each given a bag of ingredients with which to make a meal... Johnny won the judges' vote, but I won the popular vote by the audience!
Great craic, but what were the ingredients and what did you make???

ReplyDeleteMy ingredients were 2 eggs, milk, cheese. Shortcrust pastry, garlic, scallions, and bacon, so I did mini quiches. Lovely! Johnny's offering was some pastry spinach diamond thingies.
Sounds like a lot of fun! I'd like to know a bit more as to how this was done - seems a great idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's very easy to organise- Shirley from The Pampered Chef brings all the ingredients and utensils etc. You just need an oven and an audience - and if you're doing a Ready Steady Cook, two eejits like a minister or whatever. Johnny and I got roped in without agreeing - our names just appeared on the poster!
ReplyDeleteIf you want, I can email you Shirley's contact details. If it's for charity, then the charity gets 10% of the sales of the cookware - it's like a modern Tupperware party. Or individuals can host them in your house and invite friends and you get a bonus free gift for hosting it. A good night, especially if you do the Ready Steady Cook!
I was at a pampered chef thing last night too - but not for charity. What a great idea. Loved the wee wooden bung thing to make the quiche patty doofers.
